The everyday experience

A little time in the Word.

Three translations, one place to read

Via includes Douay–Rheims Challoner, the World English Bible — Catholic Edition, and the Catholic Public Domain Version. Choose your default translation in Profile settings, then explore the Bible one book and chapter at a time.

The full Bible is free. You do not need Via Pro to open books, read chapters, or use the reader's text settings. Choose the translation you find comfortable to read and give yourself time to stay with the passage.

Find your place and keep going

The redesigned Bible reader has adjustable text size, chapter bookmarks, and chapter reading progress. Keep track of where you have been and return to where you left off, with a reading surface that gives the words room.

Your basic daily streak is also free. Via Pro adds full monthly and yearly journey views for a broader look at your rhythm. The aim is to help you return to Scripture, even after a day away.

Not sure where to start?

  1. Choose a Gospel, such as Mark, and begin with its first chapter.
  2. Read a manageable passage. Notice what Jesus says and does, and write down a question if one comes to you.
  3. Return for another short session. Our beginner's Bible guide offers a seven-session reading route through Mark.

For a more prayerful way to stay with a passage, explore our guide to lectio divina. These are practical starting points; you can choose a pace that fits your day.

Continuous reading and the readings at Mass

The Bible reader lets you explore a book in sequence. Via's daily Mass readings offer another way into Scripture: reading with the Church's liturgical calendar. Both are free and available in the same app.

When a passage raises a question, Via Pro's Ask Via can help you explore Scripture and Catholic teaching with AI-powered answers and source references. AI can make mistakes, so use those references to follow the explanation and bring personal spiritual questions to your priest.
